Hatching Egg Policy
Hatch Rate Disclaimer
We are unable to guarantee hatch rates for our eggs. Once the eggs leave our farm, we cannot assume responsibility for their handling or incubation. Various factors, including rough handling, exposure to extreme temperatures, and complications during incubation, can negatively impact hatch rates for both shipped and locally picked up eggs.
Egg Sourcing and Quality Assurance
We ensure that our fresh eggs are sourced from healthy breeding pens with high fertility rates. These pens are home to exceptionally healthy parent birds, which are provided with a balanced diet that includes Layer Pellets for chickens, Waterfowl Pellets for geese and ducks, Scratch Grain, and fresh vegetables. Each bird receives ample care and attention to promote their well-being.
Our eggs are collected daily and are clearly labeled according to their respective pen designations. They are stored in a climate-controlled environment on egg turners until they are packed for shipment.
Egg Packaging and Shipping Information
Your eggs will be packaged with the highest level of care to ensure their safe delivery. Each egg is carefully candled to check for cracks, then individually wrapped in bubble wrap. The wrapped eggs are placed in a box filled with shredded cardboard for added protection. This box is then sealed and placed inside a larger box, which is also filled with shredded cardboard.
The packaging process occurs in our brooding and hatching room, and we will include the NPIP VS9-3 form inside the box. If you prefer, your phone number along with the designation ?Hold for Pick Up? can be clearly marked on the exterior of the box; we recommend this option. While we cannot control USPS operations, they typically hold packages for pickup as requested, although there may be instances where they deliver them regardless.
Please note that we do not ship outside the continental United States or to any states that have avian influenza testing requirements.
Shipping Issues and Claims Process
If your package arrives damaged, please follow these steps:
1. Immediate Notification: Report the damage to USPS right away.
Documentation: Take clear photographs of all visible damage before leaving the post office.
2.Inspection: If you notice any damage, open the box at the post office for inspection.
3. Contact Us: Reach out to me with the documentation you have gathered. We will assist you in filing a claim and will resend eggs when they are available.
4. Refund Policy: If the eggs are not available in a timely manner, we will issue a refund.
5. Claim Approval: We hope that USPS approves the claim promptly.
Delayed Documentation: If you wait until you return home to document the damage, I will still assist you, but please be aware that this may extend the resolution time.
Shipping Eggs: Important Considerations
Shipping eggs involves inherent risks. Factors such as rough handling, extreme weather conditions, incubation errors, or other unforeseen issues can affect the development of the eggs. Unfortunately, these factors are beyond our control, and we cannot guarantee that your eggs will hatch.
We do not offer replacements for eggs that do not hatch, as we only ship fresh eggs from proven fertile pens that have been meticulously packed. If you are not comfortable with this level of risk, we recommend exploring alternative options. You may consider finding a local breeder for eggs, traveling to pick up eggs in person, or purchasing hatched chicks, juveniles, or adult birds.
